Encompass Christian Counseling opened a new therapy office location in Green this past May. Expanding to the larger office suite on Tabs Drive allows us to care for the mental health demands in Summit and Stark County communities.
“Overall, through recent years, I would consider anxiety to be consistently on the rise, along with marital concerns, and depression in younger populations,” said Sheila Wagler-Mills, LPCC-S, Encompass Regional Program Director. “We also see many clients struggling in response to traumas and stressors.”
Tremendous growth in outpatient mental health counseling in recent years left Encompass without space to hire more therapists to meet client needs. This challenge led to a search for additional therapeutic and administrative space. The new Green location has seven offices for clinicians and four for administrative staff (three of whom also provide clinical treatment), plus two are available for psychiatric services and IT.
Encompass has maintained strength and services throughout the pandemic due to our dedicated clinical team. “Staff have gone above and beyond in demonstrating the flexibility needed through learning telemental health and maintaining hybrid caseloads in order to see clients in person or through telemental health to meet the individual needs of the client,” Sheila said. “Also, clinical staff must take care to address any anxiety or stress of their own in response to current circumstances, in order to be mentally healthy to meet the needs of their clients.”
Our team is growing! At this time, Encompass is actively looking for compassionate and skilled clinical team members who are licensed as a social worker (MSW or LISW) or a counselor (LPC or LPCC) to care for clients of all ages and across all areas of mental health.
Although we will eventually hire specifically for the new Green office, our current focus is to replace staff at our Portage Street location in Massillon (who transferred to Green), as well as at First Christian Church in North Canton. In addition, we are looking for a clinician to support clients at Pine Lakes Christian Church in Sebring.
Between all of the above, we are currently looking to hire three part-time therapists, and expect to continue to add more over time. There is an option for all part-time clinicians to work toward full-time positions as they build caseloads and maintain productivity.
If you are looking to be part of a trauma-informed mental health organization that supports personal and professional development, we invite you to explore a career opportunity with us. Learn more about working at Encompass and apply today.
